Welcome to the May 2026 newsletter and communication update for Catherine Clark Felts' children's books!

Happy Mother’s Day to all who guide, support, and love—stepmoms, foster moms, expectant moms, pet moms, those longing to be moms, rainbow moms, grandmothers, chosen moms, and everyone who has stepped in to nurture and care like a mom.

As we head into summer, I’ll be focusing on preparing my fifth book, How Not to Destroy a Lab, for publication, developing new workshops and opportunities for aspiring authors to collaborate and craft meaningful children’s stories, and finding new ways to connect with my community and inspire children around the world.

“Thank you” hardly feels big enough for “Papa” Rick Harris, Heather Felty of Inner Peace Press, and the wonderful attendees who joined my Writing Children’s Book Workshop: From Idea to Bookshelf.

I truly loved every moment of collaborating, sharing ideas, and connecting with such inspiring guests and participants. Over the three days, we explored so much together, beginning with the core components of a children’s book and shaping a compelling story on Day 1, diving into how to thoughtfully critique manuscripts and find the right editor on Day 2, and wrapping up on Day 3 by demystifying the different publishing paths available to aspiring authors.

I walked away just as inspired as I hope you did, and I’m already excited to bring this workshop back in the fall, with new special guests, expanded opportunities for manuscript reviews, and even more chances for meaningful collaboration.

I’m thrilled to share that Inner Peace Press has confirmed they will be publishing my fifth children’s picture book!

Welcome to the Fun Experiments Lab with Dr. Sam Pling!
